As a Preparing for Life family you are part of a very exciting programme, the first of its kind in Ireland. You play an important role in helping your child, future children and all parents. This is done by the information that you provide and the changes you make when working with Preparing for Life
During your time with us, you will receive a number of incentives such as:
- Developmental toys appropriate to your child's age each year
- Information support from a PFL information worker
- Professional framed photograph of your child and family
The Development Schedule
Over the years with Preparing for Life, you and your child can expect to receive not only visits and 
information from you information officer but also gifts to help your child learn through play and to thank you for working with us.
- 1st Development Pack: 7 months pregnant
- 1st set of books: Baby aged 3 months
- Family Portrait offered: Baby aged 3 months
- 2nd Developmental Pack:` Baby aged 1 year
- 2nd set of books: Baby aged 1 year, 3 months
- 3rd Developmental Pack: Child aged 2 years
- 3rd set of books: Child aged 2 years, 3 months
- 4th Developmental Pack: Child aged 3 years
- 4th set of books: Child aged 3 years, 3 months
- Final Developmental Pack: Child aged 4 years
You will also receive a set of laminated palcemats and a beautiful Height Chart to measure how your child is growing.
The Research Schedule
A vital part of the Prepaing for Life programme is being visisted by the research team. Your role and co-operation in this aspect of the programme is essential and very much appreciated. You can expect to be visited appoximately twice a year as follows:
- Visit 1: When you join the programme
- Visit 2: When baby is 3 months old
- Visit 3: When baby is 6 months
- Visit 4: When baby is 12 months
- Visit 5: When baby is 18 months
- Visit 6: When baby is 2 years
- Visit 7: When baby is 3 years
- Visit 8: When baby is 4 years
