Comprising six monthly themed workshops and follow-up on site mentoring, the Animating Aistear stage of SFL supports participants to reflect on the concepts explored in the Curriculum Foundations phase and realise them through their curriculum and practice. Learning Environments and Planning and Assessment are the two main areas of practice explored during the Animating Aistear stage of SFL.
We train and mentor early childhood educators to develop leadership skills to support their teams. We encourage participants to become leaders who will promote and sustain quality practice in their own settings. The leadership training is closely linked to the content of our Aistear Curriculum development training.
Participants attend group training sessions and receive individual mentoring in their setting.
We know from research that there is a significant link between effective leadership in early years settings and the quality of provision.
